Ask Hobo Highbrow

Anything you ever wanted to know from Hobo Highbrow that hasn’t been said in the book? Now is your chance to ask him directly. Our favourite going-to-be Nobel prize winner has offered us to reply to your questions right here on this blog.

All he wants us to do is to collect the questions of his fans that you can leave in the comments here, on his twitter and on his facebook group.

So your turn now: What would you like Hobo to tell you?

And the winner is…

The lucky winner of last week’s book competition is:

Sarah Laracy
from Wellington, New Zealand!

Photo collage with "The Scoundrel Days of Hobo Highbrow" by Graham from Ireland

Like all the others Sarah replied correctly that it was Morten Harket talking to Graham from Ireland in this picture.

Her reply to the question what he is saying there was: “Morten is lamenting the fact that if he had stuck with his original plans to become a priest, he could have eventually one-upped Pal by having his image crafted in stained glass. But he left that all behind for a-ha… ;-)

Congratulations, Sarah! You win a signed copy of “The Scoundrel Days of Hobo Highbrow” that will hope fully arrive on your end of the world soon! ;-)

Thanks to all participants for their great answers! And don’t be sad if you were not the winner. Maybe you’ll have better luck next time! :-)

Anyone else who wants to buy this book can do that on Pål H. Christiansen’s website!

French and Italian translations about Hobo in the pipeline

"Drømmer om storhet" I am happy to announce that two more translations of “Drømmer om storhet” are in the pipeline:

Annalisa Maurantonio has made a complete draft for an Italian translation and Valérie Siondecine is approaching the end of her work with a French one. Both have put great efforts in this on their own, without any agreements with any publishers in their home countries, but with my permission. All this in order to share my work with fellow a-ha fans and other readers of Italian and French.

Thanks to Annalisa and Valérie! I really appreciate this!

Now the time has come to share these translations with you all! We want you to comment and discuss the translations that will be published on this blog bit by bit during the coming months. Our aim is of course to get these manuscripts published as real books, but since this will probably take some time, we want to share these text with you now. Some of you have been waiting for a long, long time.

So watch this space! You can subscribe to the updates of this blog (RSS – see in the sidebar top right) by feedreader or email to make sure you don’t miss anything. And of course don’t forget to comment and rate the blogposts. ;-)

Hobo spotted in England!

As you might remember, Hobo Highbrow, hero of Pål H. Christiansen’s novel “The Scoundrel Days of Hobo Highbrow”, got a restraining order in Norway because of stalking his idol Paul Waaktaar-Savoy. That’s why he decided to follow the a-ha member through other countries.

After being spotted in the USA, in France and Hungary, Hobo Highbrow has now been discovered in England by British artist Helen Dearnely:

“Hobo has been spotted outside the Roundhouse waiting for Paul Waaktaar-Savoy at the itunes gig. He was caught out hiding in a wheelie bin!!! True to character!” ;-)

Have you seen Hobo trying to stalk his idol Paul somwhere near to you too?
